Legal Description

   Minimize

A legal description is used to describe the location of land in legal documents (for example, the deed to your land). It is the written record of the intended location and size of a particular parcel of land within a city, county, and state.  Several types of land transfers and transactions, including ownership of real property and granting of easement rights and rights of way, require a legal description to be written and stamped by a licensed land surveyor.
